Weihnachtliche Tischdeko/ Christmas Table Decoration
Von Kokopelli am 27. Dezember 2009.
I made this table decoration for Christmas Eve. Just the candle on top is missing. The beads are attached to the bottle with Tacky Tape and I needle felted the star with the help of a star shaped cookie cutter. I never tried that, but it was easier and faster than I thought. The instructions said that you need to paint a bottle with “frost medium”, but I simply took a Freixenet champagne bottle, which are already frosted.

Very pretty! The frosted bottle tip was “priceless”!
Why, aren’t you clever. What is needle felt? The things I learn here. I like the ribbon. Is it wire ribbon?
Yes, the ribbon is wire ribbon. I love that for decoration, as one canbring it in every shape one likes.
Needle felting and wet felting are the two main felting techniques. For wet felting you treat the wool with soap and hot water to felt it. For needle felting you need a special felt needle with little flukes in it. If you push the needle into the wool, the little flukes cause the ,,felting effect”. Wet feelting is better for big objects while needle felting is more for small objects and details.
Wow, sounds like a lot of work. How cool.
Oh, felting is easier than it sounds. There is even wool, you can crochet or knit and then put into the washing machine and felt in in there. That must be fun, but I never tried that. Would love to in 2010. One of these days, you know.
